Welcome to the blog of the high school class of 1985 of St. Scholastica’s College, Manila!
Calling all Scholasticans of HS’85! This official site will host updates on plans to celebrate our Silver Jubilee on February 2010, and keep you in the loop on what’s going on with each of us (you’d really like to know, wouldn’t you?). We’ve got a core group up and running, planning fun activities and fundraising projects. Whether you’re in the Philippines or abroad, this blog is one way to stay connected to long-lost friends and participate as best as you can in preparations for the homecoming.
From now until August 2009, the focus is on raising funds for the beneficiary (a St. Scho-affiliated one which will be determined by next year), and the homecoming event itself. The goal is to raise a total of P1 million, and with your help, we can do it! Preparations for the homecoming event will begin in July 2009.
We’re all aware of how difficult the economy’s been in recent years and even days—high oil prices and the resulting inflation, job cuts, a credit crunch following the US financial crisis; you’ve got kids to send to school, bills to pay—but we’re still better off than most people on this planet. And who we are today has been shaped in part by the Scholastican education we received more than 20 years ago. These times are calling on all of us to give the best of time, money, effort and talent that we can spare.
Thanks to the Internet, we’ve been able to keep together a loose network of Batch ’85, from Manila to Washington, D.C. We’ve got over 100 members on the Facebook group. Remember how excited you’d get when we’d have a soiree with the Ateneo or La Salle boys? How you cheered your class to victory at intramurals? Yelled your self hoarse when Martin Nievera and Miguel Rodriguez visited the campus? Now’s the time to channel that energy and enthusiasm into planning Homecoming 2010! Let’s go, St Scho!

PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT
A little goes a long way! No pledge is too small or big for the intended beneficiary. The more we give, the more lasting our impact will be on those we help. A portion of your pledge will also be used as cost-efficiently as possible for expenses related to preparations for the homecoming event. Since we are incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, official receipts will be issued for donations and an accounting will be made of monies received.

1) Download and fill out the pledge form here. Once we receive this from you, we will coordinate how we can pick up or how you can deposit your pledge.
